Diabetes Education

Certified Diabetes Educator/Registered Dietitian

FT. Provides professional care by providing diabetic self-management education and medical nutrition therapy. The dietitian will also work closely with other departments as a liaison in order to provide for the total nutritional needs of patients. Appropriate diabetes self-management will be taught in one on one or group settings to persons with diabetes, families, or caregivers. Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major. Registered Dietician with the State of Texas; Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE). Registered Dietitian currently licensed by the State of Texas. Certified by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators as a CDE. BCLS preferred. Experience as a professional Registered Dietitian preferred.

Laboratory

Medical Technologist

FT - Nights & Weekends. Obtains specimens from patients and performs established clinical tests and procedures. Interprets test results. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance. Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or education requirements to meet licensure, registry or certification. Registered by ASCP, AMT, ISLCT or HEW. One year of medical laboratory experience preferred.

Nursing

RN - Night Shift Supervisor

FT. Nights. Responsible for the supervision of patient care activities in the Med/Surg unit. Supervises staff in the Med/Surg unit and provides oversight of operational and nursing activities. Consults with staff, physicians, Assistant Director of Nursing and the Chief Nursing Officer on nursing issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met as well as strict adherence to hospital policy. Recognizes, documents, and implements corrective action for employee behaviors outside hospital policy or standard of care under the direct supervision of Nursing Administration. Gathers, analyzes and constructs reports as required by the Chief Quality Officer. This includes the auditing of charts and records to obtain statistical data necessary to measure hospital and nursing performance. Submits reports by required deadlines. Upon data analysis completion, reports any corrective measures needed to the ADON and/or CNO for corrective action, counseling or education as needed. Responsible for the dissemination of this information to the appropriate staff. Provides professional nursing care within the Nursing Department, and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides direct and indirect patient care. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with minimum supervision. Prioritizes patient care safely, rapidly and accurately with every patient assigned to them. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Responsible for the scheduling of Med/Surg staff, as well as ensuring coverage for absences. Communicates with Nursing Administration briefly each day to review agenda. May be required to cover shifts as needed. This position requires on-call rotation as directed by upper level management. Med/Surg Supervisor is required to participate in educational meetings, classes and will report any new information or changes to the staff. May be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. BCLS and ACLS preferred. Two years of experience as a professional Registered Nurse in the hospital setting.

FT. Nights. Has principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient.  Plans, provides and documents discharge planning, teaching and educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care.  Assures that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas.  BCLS and ACLS preferred. One year experience as a professional Registered Nurse preferred.

Nurse Aide

PRN. Under the supervision of nursing staff members assists in providing nursing care, prepares records and maintains a clean environment. A student of an accredited LVN school within their last semester prior to graduation. Validation of school enrollment and status required. High school graduate or equivalent. BCLS certification preferred. One year experience in a medical setting preferred. Current CPR training. Nursing Assistant course desirable.

Certified Pharmacy Technician

FT. Under supervision of a Pharmacist, assists with monitoring drug therapy, the stocking and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and the control of narcotics and controlled substances. Graduate of High School or GED. TSBP Registration, PTCB Certification preferred. One year experience in a medical setting preferred.

Director

FT. Administers and directs the administering of physical agents utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician. Graduate of an accredited Bachelor Degree program in Physical Therapy. Texas Physical Therapy license. One year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist preferred.

Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory Therapist

PRN. Under the supervision of a physician and the Director of Nursing, administers prescribed cardiopulmonary procedures, performs a variety of technical procedures and assists in the cleaning, maintenance and disinfection of cardiopulmonary equipment. Graduate of an approved JRCRTE Program. Certified as a CRTT or RRt and a Texas license required. One year experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician preferred.
